Facelift in Los Angeles, California

This procedure rejuvenates the aging face and neck by removing excess skin and tightening the deeper facial tissues. This is effective for sagging neck lines and jowls, and deep wrinkling of the face. To obtain the best results, rhytidectomy is often conjunctive with other procedures such as browlift, eyelid surgery or liposuction below the chin, but this varies from affected patient to patient. The facelift can be performed under local or general anesthesia, and usually lasts several hours. Incisions are typically placed around the ear and inside the hair-bearing scalp to minimize their visibility. During the surgery, the face lift surgeon separates the skin from the face, tightens the deeper tissues and redrapes the skin in a pleasing personal manner. Excess skin and weave is removed. Small drain tubes may be placed under the skin to remove surfeit fluid, and these are usually removed in one or two days. After the operating room, an overnight stay is routine. Well-nigh patients resume household activities within one or two days. Pain and discomfort next the surgery are typically controlled with viva pain medication, and are not severe. Nigh stitches are removed within one workweek later surgery, and inside two weeks most patients can give back to work. Some bruising and/or swelling may persist longer, depending on the exact nature of the surgery and the patient.

The ideal candidate for a face lift is a man or woman in good health who's face and neck has begun to swag, but with relatively good skin tone. The patient with jowling and banding or fatty deposits in the neck is also a beneficial candidate. Complications include bleeding, infection, possible wound to the facial nerve branches and infection.
